Tara Sufiana

Born in Switzerland of a Swiss father and American mother, Tara Sufiana has lives most of her life in the United States with extended travels in 30 countries. Her professions include flamenco dancing, singing, modeling, belly dancing, acting and writing. Tara’s articles have been published in leading magazines in four countries. She conducts workshops in Egyptian Dervish dance internationally. Although she holds university degrees in Psychology and India Studies, Tara gathers a wealth of knowledge through personal experience. When not traveling she resides in her mountain home in northern California.

Book Review

Viewing the wonders of Egypt through the perspective of the author has been an enlightening experience, as it stokes in me a flame of desire to travel the world and live as free as the author.

The book is some what inspiring, being able to go through life, learning new experiences, and never being tied down, a true wanderlust-filled scenario. The author is an amazingly unique woman.

Tara Sufiana has lived through an extraordinary adventure that took her deep inside a world not easily glimpsed by a Western woman. She owes this connection to her talents, her open mindedness and her sheer wanderlust. As a professional dancer and belly dancer, a singer and a composer of songs reminiscent of the troubadours in content, Tara goes tall where others are afraid to thread, taking us to Egypt and there right to the heart of any country and culture: its people.

Interesting adventure of culture and love.

This book is very inspirational, as it allows the reader access to a realm that few will ever experience firsthand. With the unique perspective of a very openminded westerner, Tara becomes thoroughly immersed in the inner as well as the outer landscapes that she encounters. Her buoyant spirit propels her where others would hesitate. She ventures forth, undaunted by a lack of funds or by differences in language and culture, to find new challenges and rewards. I found Tara's account very enriching. I am a different person for having read it.
